Heritage Church LOGOS Program

Mark your calendars and join us as we embark on a new LOGOS year. We have many exciting things planned and hope that you will join us.

• Wednesday, Sept. 10th at 6:30: Learn the Vital Ingredients your Child needs to Succeed in School & Life–Joan Wolf Schenker of The North Hills Youth Ministry counseling center will be presenting a parent workshop to equip you with The 40 Developmental Assets (which happens to be one of the foundations for LOGOS). Studies prove that children that who have a majority of these assets are less likely to exhibit at risk behavior and are more likely to become successful well-rounded young adults. Please bring your kids (in grades k-8) for a mini-LOGOS style childcare program at the same time. During your workshop the kids will enjoy an abbreviated LOGOS night. At the end of the workshop, parents will rejoin their kids for a snack. Rsvp by calling the church at 412-366-1338 or me at 412-759-9132. Invite a friend and share this valuable workshop. Anyone who works with children will find Joan’s presentation useful.
• Sunday, September 14th from 4pm-7pm: You’re invited to a picnic. Heritage Church is hosting a picnic. Please come for some good food, good fun, and good fellowship! You may bring a covered dish to share, but it is not necessary. Forget about dinner…grab a hotdog with us.
• Wednesday, September 17th at 6:30: Logos Parent Meeting. Learn more about the how the Logos programs program can benefit your family. You’ll receive an early bird $5 discount for registering at the meeting. If, for some reason, you are unable to attend, please call me to arrange a private meeting.
• Wednesday, September 24th from 4pm-7pm: The first day of LOGOS…Yeah! The LOGOS program includes children in grades k-8. Sessions include snack, recreation, Bible study, craft and worship skills followed by a family style dinner where the children and adults have a meal, conversation and an after dinner activity. High School students and adults are welcomed to attend as helpers and stay for dinner. You and your family may even join your children for dinner (a menu will be posted on this blog soon). Where else can you get a great guest meal for $2!! Contact me if you know of a high school student that would like to volunteer. If you are interested in LOGOS, your children can sample it at the mini logos during the parenting workshop on the 10th and you may attend the parent meeting on the 17th to enroll your child or just to see what it is like and ask questions.
  

There is no RSVP needed for the parent meeting or church picnic, but I would appreciate an RSVP for the workshop if possible to plan for materials.
